DATING!!!
so, for some odd reason, the issue of dating has come up quite a bit in the past couple of weeks or so. Many of the conversations that I've been part of lately seem to revolve around it, more so than other weeks. I guess for people our age (yes, I still consider myself in the same age group as freshmen), it's something worth discussing right? If you think about it, it's almost hard not to engage in that kind of conversation when the topic comes up. Even the quietest people seem to have something to say. As a FOCUS leader, I'm really looking forward to the class when we talk about that kind of stuff. I'm expecting a lot of active participation (aka, giggling).
So anyways, a few friends and I were having post-lunch discussion the other day and of course, dating came up. What was interesting about that conversation was that everyone seemed to unload and say the things that everyone is thinking but is hesitant to say. For example, we talked about how hard it is for some guys on campus to ask girls out because they're afraid it will come off as something way more serious than they initially intended. It doesn't help that we go to a small school either. I'm afraid that if I get rejected, my professors will find out about it and tease me. jerks. But maybe some of us just have to take a deep breath and put aside our pride for a few minutes? I'm no Love Doctor so I'll stop here before I get any of you and myself into trouble.
I guess this would be a good time to promote YULE. Never been to it so I can't say much about it except that it's at the Disneyland Hotel and I know how much you Southern Californians like Disneyland. You can find out more information in the CAB office. From what I understand, you get all dressed up and have a blast with friends. Doesn't sound too bad huh? I'm going for sure. I even have a date. I know what you're thinking... She's lucky... The only thing is she doesn't know she's my date yet...
As you can tell, I've been single for a while. It's okay though because it's by choice, at least that's what mom tells me.
Thanks Mom.
